I needed this lamp to be not forgotten and shows up in photographs in buildings in England and Germany, In RIBA (Royal Institute British Architects) Library spent a number of years there as no internet at that time. Then the first book I brought on Erich Mendelshon was an exhibition book, wrote to the Publisher concerning about the furniture in this home and gave me Daria Joseph contact so wrote to Daria Joseph about furniture and lamp. The inter war years as he only lived in The Villa Am Rupenhorn for 2 years went to Britten London as it turns out he ends up in San Francisco.
The lamp shows up in varies forms in different houses of time
The Villa had taken fifteen years in design. Final inspection, early March 1930.
On a bitterly cold day in March 1931 Jack Pritchard, Wells Coats and Serge Chermayeff went to see Erich Mendelshon’s, Am Rupenhorn Villa and had dinner there. The tour was a few sites in Berlin and Stuttgart. Soon Serge and Erich were in business together, Mendelshon brought in 55% of Chermayeff business in 1933
This lamp was observed by following people Jack Pritchard, Wells Coates and Serge Chermayeff Wells Coates Embassy Court, Brighton. 1934 - 1935
